• Street drag racing highlights Roadkill Nights

    Woodward Avenue north of Detroit was transformed into a drag strip for the first-ever legal street racing during the second annual Roadkill Nights Powered by Dodge on Friday, Aug. 19. Building on the huge success of last year’s premiere event at the Pontiac (Mich.) Silverdome, Dodge and TEN: The Enthusiast Network muscled their way onto historic Route 1—Woodward Avenue in Pontiac—for nine hours of drag racing. More than 350 street-legal cars hit the specially prepped 1/8-mile drag strip.

    The Fiat brand is partnering with the legendary Bob Bondurant School of High Performance Driving for an all-new Abarth Track Experience, offering owners and fans of the “small but wicked” Abarth models an opportunity to develop their racing and driving skills. The Fiat 124 Spider Abarth and the Fiat 500 Abarth will join Bondurant’s current lineup of high-performance vehicles as part of the new Fiat Trackside and Road Rally programs, which will be available beginning in November.
  • Jeep® and Toledo celebrate 75 years together

    Jeep® vehicles took over downtown Toledo on Saturday, Aug. 13 as the city celebrated 75 years with the historic brand. The first-ever Jeep Fest drew crowds estimated at 40,000 people, who toured an “all-Jeep” car show at the city’s Seagate Center and lined several streets downtown for an hour-and-a-half-long Jeep parade. About 1,000 Jeep vehicles dating back to the 1940s were on display.

  • Motor Citizens beautify Detroit neighborhood

    More than 1,100 FCA Motor Citizen volunteers traveled to Detroit’s East Side for a week-long cleanup and beautification project in the neighborhood around Denby High School during the week of Aug. 1-5. Working on days when temperatures reached 90 degrees, the volunteers mowed lawns, cleared trash and cut down overgrown bushes around homes in the neighborhood.Other volunteers boarded up abandoned houses around schools.
