Surfing fans “check out” the FIAT 500L Vans design concept that debuted at the Vans US Open of Surfing in Huntington Beach, CA.

They say every artist has a muse.

Vans and the FIAT brand design team joined forces to create a Fiat 500L-Vans design concept vehicle based on the SK8-Hi a Vans Classic shoe. From the checkered roof to the double-decker surf board carrier, the fun and edginess that embodies the classic hi-top is evident at first glance of the vehicle.

“When we started working with Vans, we found that their brand is very youthful and free spirited, just like FIAT is,” Irina Zavatski, Exterior Design Manager for FIAT brand, said.

The FIAT 500L- Vans design concept debuted in July at the Vans US open of Surfing in Huntington Beach, Calif.

“When we started working with Vans, we found that their brand is very youthful and free spirited, just like Fiat is,” Irina Zavatski, Exterior Design Manager for the FIAT brand, said.

“I think the Vans Culture really affected the FIAT 500L Vans edition,” Ashley Niemen, Interior designer for FIAT brand said.  “It kind of gives that adventure lifestyle the customer feels, and allows them to get up and go and take whatever they need with them to do that.”
